Grazing
Greg Devenny - Mackay was born in 1959 and raised on a grazing property on the Monaro, in the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales. His great grandfather came from Ireland and settled on the high plains of the Monaro after finding Gold at Kiandra over 145 years ago. Greg owns one part of what was his parents' property and is currently building a retreat & studio there.
Welfare & Arts - 80's to early 90's
As an administrator / Youth Worker, Greg has taken his creative ability and directly applied it in artistic and curative self-development workshops and retreats, specifically intended to help stabilise, strengthen and reform participants, in much needed support and rehabilitation programs, whilst administrating welfare services in NSW and the ACT.
Self-development - early 90's
Independent Educator in ACT TAFE (CIT). Greg has facilitated personalised self-development courses for CIT encompassing a wide range of self-development technics, that demonstrate his own skills of creative lateral thinking in the class environment, concentrating on group work.
Private Schools System
Greg gained insight into a wealth of experiences having been the Administrator / Bursar of Orana School for Rudolf Steiner Education in Canberra. A German arts based education. This education system extends its far-reaching knowledge and application into many fields including: the arts, sciences, humanities, architecture and biodynamic agriculture etc; applying a rounded holistic approach.
Visual Arts, Artist & Teacher
Greg has felt comfortable with drawing and painting from a very young age. He wishes to extent his artistic talent by sharing his gift in a professional way with others. He is a naturally gifted artist and design initiator who has developed his own distinct style, which is based upon intuition, research and practical application. Greg is an artist who has worked until early 2001 primarily on commissioned pieces. His work is in private and public collections in Australia, Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Singapore, Holland, Ireland, England. His works are also featured in over 200 Minter Ellison legal offices around the wrold.
To date Greg has completed a considerable number of Individual, Businesses and Corporate Art Commissions. Greg has also illustrated several book covers for writers. Greg commenced teaching his own art classes in early 1999 and by 2001 had ceased relying on commissioned art works as the main focus of his artistic direction. With the broad recognition and success of his independent art school, Greg has been able to focus his time on his own original works of art. Presently he has many works for private sale.
