About Dru Yoga

Young students stretching out in a Dru Yoga classDru Yoga is a gentle but extremely powerful yoga. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind and opens the heart. The flowing movements and postures are flexible and powerful. They boost the immune system, and help to overcome depression and stress. Dru yoga helps aid back pain, enhances intuition and is easy to practise. It is a soft flowing yoga that installs stillness in motion, healing the physical, subtle and emotion bodies. Work with the balancing, healing and harmonising effects of Dru Yoga.

The Dru Yoga format

The program will follow the Dru Yoga format, which includes:

  1. An Activation - A body warm-up.
  2. An EBR - Energy Block Release sequence, which releases blocked energy, aiding detoxification & prepares the body for the postural work, including special body preparation stretches.
  3. Classical Asanas - Special Body Movements called postures, combined with the breath to bring strength, flexibility and general wellbeing to the body and mind.
  4. Meditation and Relaxation - To relax the body and mind totally, and is an important part of the program as the body needs to assimilate the movement and breath work.

Preparing for a Dru Yoga class

Please bring a yoga mat and/or blanket, a small pillow and a bottle of water. Wear comfortable clothes such as tracksuit pants a t-shirt and a sweater that you can easily take off. You will need to wear socks in the relaxation session.
