For 5 to 13 year olds
The Lavender Art Studios holiday art workshops present a distinctive and concentrated opportunity for skill development and exploration for children and young people.
With over 25 years of hands-on experience, our professional art teachers provide individualized attention, tailoring guidance to each child's skill level, interests, and learning style. Students can hone specific techniques and explore many varied mediums, unrestricted by the time constraints of regular school schedules.
The flexibility and extended class durations of holiday art workshops allow for the exploration of various mediums, from painting to sculpture, aiding children in discovering their artistic preferences and strengths.
For those aspiring to pursue art within our broader curriculum, these holiday art workshops offer preparation by instilling foundational skills and knowledge, providing a valuable start when entering our regular art class program.
Students are supported by a professionally fitted-out art studio equipped with the finest art supplies. All materials are provided, and the cost includes delightful morning and afternoon tea, making this the ultimate creative escape for your little artists.
Festival, carninval art workshops
In July, Lavender Art Studios invites young creatives to immerse themselves in a vibrant world of festivals and carnival—a theme inspired by our tradition of celebrating the rich cultural history behind performance and community celebration.
Students will draw inspiration from age-old street festivities, travelling entertainers, costume pageantry, and the artistry of human movement. By introducing children to the history of carnival and circus, we honour traditions that date back to medieval fairs, Renaissance revels, and early 20th-century street theatre.
Through sculpture, printmaking and illustration, participants explore the design craftsmanship behind costumes, puppetry, acrobatics, and mask-making, learning that art has long been a powerful tool for storytelling, community building, and joy.
For parents, this program offers a meaningful way to see their children engage with the past while developing creative confidence, fine motor skills, and a sense of cultural curiosity.
