More information on our School Holiday Artworkshops!

This evening we had a lovely request for a few more images and details about our School Holiday Art Workshops — so here they are.

These photographs are from our recent holiday series “Legends and Landscapes: A Journey Through Fantasy and Art”. Featured here is a teacher demonstration — a beautiful watercolour pencil dragon — all created to inspire and guide our young artists.

At Lavender Art Studios, every theme and program is thoughtfully designed and fully resourced by our Studio Directors. Our staff members are carefully trained under Greg Devenny Mackay, and we are proud to note that the studio is privately owned and operated. Lavender Art Studios has been operating since 1999, and we have built a strong and established portfolio of holiday programs.

Importantly, our teachers are not only highly skilled in the practice and teaching of art, but they also bring with them the essential human qualities of kindness, genuine care, and a sincere commitment to seeing each student learn, progress, and thrive. For example, our teachers take the time to understand each student’s individual needs and abilities, patiently guiding beginners and encouraging more advanced students to extend their skills. They offer encouragement, constructive feedback, and create a calm, welcoming environment where creativity can flourish. Whether it is helping a young artist perfect their brushwork, explaining a complex shading technique, or celebrating each small achievement, our teachers are dedicated to making every art journey personal and meaningful.

At Lavender Art Studios, is a postive place where students, teachers, and families can experience the joy of creating in an atmosphere that is respectful, supportive, and inspiring.

Many of our students return to us year after year, and it is a joy to now welcome parents who once attended as children themselves.

We love what we do — nurturing creativity and providing a real, human-to-human learning experience. Over the years, we have witnessed thousands of personal and professional achievements begin right here at Lavender Art Studios.

Importantly, all pieces created at Lavender Art Studios are drawn and rendered entirely in a freehand style. We do not use graphing methods, grids, or external props. Greg Devenny-Mackay personally trains all students in regular term classes and student teachers for shp in freehand drawing techniques, which include the drafting of underdrawings beneath paintings. This builds strong observational skills and encourages authentic artistic development from the first sketch to the final artwork.

Practice Makes Progress — and at Lavender Art Studios, evidenced progress is something we celebrate every day.
